Required Preparation for a Catholic wedding

An engaged couple must be suitably prepared to enter this sacrament. Explicit norms about this suitable preparation are expected soon from the Irish catholic bishops.

Check with your priest

If a course does not treat of marriage as a sacrament, it can hardly meet the church's requirement. Our pre-marriage course, led by a priest and trained counsellors, is Catholic in ethos & includes spiritual values as well as the practical aspects of sustaining relationship.

From 1985 until now, our Mount Argus course has been accepted by parishes in Ireland and abroad, as an excellent day of marriage preparation. We confidently expect to meet the pmc criteria promised soon from the Irish episcopal conference.
