
Mission of
the Pre-marriage Course
"Together" Pre-marriage Course
(held on one or more Saturdays each month - except August) helps engaged couples to focus mentally, emotionally and spiritually
on their forthcoming marriage, and what qualities will enhance it. It is delivered in
the form of interactive "sessions" rather than as straight
lectures. The one-day course consists of four Sessions, with sessions
1-3 each lasting 90 minutes; session 4 lasts just 60 minutes [total
just under 5 hours]. It should help couples clarify their
expectations and confirm their commitment
to partnership.
Content of
our 4 Sessions
1. Relationship
& Communication [09.30 to 11.00] Communicating; trust; honesty;
realistic expectations; coping with conflict; reconciliations, etc.
2. Sexuality &
Responsibility [11.30 to 13.00] Male/female anatomy; awareness
& lovemaking; approaches to family planning. Keeping love alive.
3. Marriage: Law
& Sacrament [14.00 to 15.30] What law and society says on
Marriage; Catholic teaching on Marriage; options for your Nuptial
ceremony.
4. Facing Life Together
[16.00 to 17.00] A married couple share their experience of being
in partnership, from dating to child-bearing & rearing.
Catering at our Course
Basic catering is provided
for all our course participants in the form of "snacks
to tide you over". Tea/Coffee break (& biscuits)
in the mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Soup &
sandwiches are served at 1 pm, by way of a light lunch.
If
diabetic or vegetarian, please make any special catering needs known to our caterer, by mid-morning.
